Emmett Roepke studied architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago (IIT) with George Schipporeit and Joseph Fujikawa (1996-1999). He established an office in NYC (2001) and then relocated to London (2009) where he currently resides. Emmett Roepke’s work was chosen for Architectural Record’s Vanguard issue (2008) and additionally awarded by the Royal Academy selection committee for the Architecture Exhibit (2015).
Roepke has been practicing for over twenty years in the creation of meticulously sophisticated contemporary architecture unrestrained from the basics and unpresumptuous in its individuality with an aesthetic counterbalanced by his respect and understanding of the historic.
The duration of his organizations vocation encompasses a broad ranging assortment within a multitude of categories: private houses, apartments, commercial buildings, hotels, restaurants, stores, art installations, private commissions, galleries, interiors and land use.
Striving to deliver beautifully crafted, well executed interventions that have a timeless quality, both in function and finish, Roepke integrates the pure tactile qualities of materials through physical and sensory experiences of space. At the core of his process, there is an embracing theory of art through simplistic honesty and considered methodology in the things he designs and constructs.
