Wicker Park House

Chicago, IL, USA
2004 – 2005

As a critical aspect of the re-design of this historic Richardsonian home, bringing in new architectural element’s distinctive from the present address essential provisions for modern function, yet relative to the existing character. These aspects incorporate much needed defined spaces for contemporary lifestyle, clearing and simplifying the programme to accommodate a more proficient rational interior, consolidating and repurposing the upper floor to a more spacious primary bedroom suite. The rear lower area was redefined into a double height space, at the same time connecting it to the main level and creating a glass wall looking out to the garden.
