Lyons Weir Gallery

NYC
2007

Adaptation of a deteriorated electronic repair store meant clearing away everything superfluous, generating a white box with polished concrete floors, defining the Lyons Weir Gallery inside a corner glass shop at street level, making available a diverse exhibition space for art whose effect is to draw in guests. The suspended lighting system is set within the core and down the length of the walls, casting theatrical projections of light across the white walls, diffusing even light within the gallery. A full height side wall marks out a greeting area with discreet views into the body of the gallery, with a full height central wall as the focal point of the space providing a barrier between the external vicinity and the serene interior’s art put on view.
